Quilt Contest
"Red, White, . . . and New!"
Contest Winners
With this show, we will be adding a new phase to what has become a successful and popular Quilt Show. In addition to the Community Quilts Exhibit, DeLoris Stude's Featured Quilts, and Mary Bywater Cross' talk on "Oregon Heritage Quilts", we are going to have a Quilt Contest !!!
We were inspired to do this by Mary Bywater Cross' lecture at our March, 2002 show, in which she talked and showed slides about a quilt contest that The Oregonian sponsored in the 1930's.
The theme of our Quilt Contest will be "Red, White, . . . and New!" We don't care what colors you use in your quilt, or what shape it takes - - all it needs to do is reflect the renewed interest in community and country. What does patriotism, your country, your community, mean to you.
